Anna and the Lost Cat (Learn English with Stories)
Anna is a girl who loves her cat, Tom. Tom is small and gray with big green eyes. Every day, Anna feeds Tom, plays with him, and makes sure he is safe.
One morning, Anna wakes up and cannot find Tom. “Tom? Tom?” she calls, but there is no answer. She looks in the kitchen — no Tom. She looks in the garden — still no Tom.
Anna starts to feel worried. “I have to find him,” she thinks.
She asks her neighbor, “Have you seen my cat?”
The neighbor says, “No, but I will help you look.”
Anna and the neighbor search the street and the park. Anna looks under a bench, behind a tree, and near the flowers.
Finally, she hears a soft sound: “Meow.”
Anna finds Tom stuck in a bush. His paw is caught on a branch. Carefully, Anna helps him get free.
She holds Tom close and says, “I will take better care of you.”
When they get home, Anna makes Tom comfortable and gives him some milk. She also fixes the hole in the garden fence so Tom cannot run away again.
Anna learns that loving someone means keeping them safe and caring for them every day.
